untitled (WIP): one more night in selva

My new series 'untitled (WIP)' is an ever evolving series exploring raw fluidity. In conjunction, this public brainstorm serves as a personal practice putting my ideas in progress on display contrasting the usual reveal only as its final, edit version.
This helps my confidence grow with my work as a whole, and aims to encourage and empower my fellow artists to put themselves out there, and that the process is your most personal art that carries a power of vulnerability that creates connection.

The first installation 'one more night is selva' debuted in the windows of Rewind Kingston, part of an ongoing residency. The installation reflects the decision to book an extra night, as if we instinctively knew we needed one more day to soak it in. Loosely inspired by the line “one goddamn weekend in Oviedo” from Vicky Cristina Barcelona — except f*ck Woody Allen — which captures a passion destined to unravel, this piece leans toward a softer beginning: the kind of deep connection that forms early and feels undeniable. The last night unfolded through small misadventures and romance. It felt cinematic, almost surreal in its perfection — so much so that at times I question whether I imagined it at all.

The work will change intermittently throughout the duration of the residency.

untitled (WIP) is a series of installations presented in an active, unfinished state. Each installation brings together concepts, inspiration, and ideas currently being explored—works in conversation as they shift and evolve. By placing the work in a public space before it feels complete, the series becomes a personal practice of release. It moves away from perfectionism and the pull of external validation, allowing process to exist without pressure to resolve. Untitled (WIP) embraces uncertainty as a meaningful part of creation, treating progress as something lived through rather than perfected.
